The Society of Dorset Men
Objectives

The Society of Dorset Men stands today in good heart and with much the same purpose as the founders laid down in 1904.
The Society celebrated its centenary year in splendid style at the Officer’s Mess at Blandford Camp in July 2004. Always capturing the spirit of the Society, our President, Sir Anthony Jolliffe declared; “ There will be a Society of Dorset Men as long as there is a Dorset”

With a membership of around 1,200, the Society encourages members to be enthusiastic about all things Dorset- not forgetting the Dorset dialect- and to foster a love and pride of the county, its history, culture and traditions.

A number of meeting are held each year, the highlight being the County Dinner every last Saturday in October. The Annual General Meeting is held after a lunch in March, and other functions are spread around the county in the hope that most Dorset members will be able to reach most of them. Wives and partners are welcome at all occasions.
Apart from the County Dinner, guests are welcomed to all functions if there is space available.

The Society welcomes new members, and  secretary, Hayne Russell can be contacted  from our Contact Page.
